More Reinforcements June 2025

 Another group of reinforcements specifically for the Normans in the Nunnery campaign scenario but the Byzantines can also be used for the Red Boots of Byzantium and A War Like No Other campaign scenarios.  All campaign scenarios can be accessed through the Ancients/Medievals Campaign Page to the right.

Today, I give you 8 stands of Varangians:  Old Glory 15s from pack BZ08 with command from BZ@!; 4 stands of Byzantine cavalry:  Old Glory 15s from BZ19; and finally a command stand for the Byzantine Italians:  the officer is from Baueda pack NRM1, the knight is from Baueda pack LNG12 and the mounted priest is from Eskice Minatures. The Old Glory 15s were picked up off Ebay.  I had to add 6 or 7 figures to the Varangians plus touch up the paint and redo all of the shields.  The cavalry are from the same seller on Ebay.  I added two figures to make 4 full stands of these.  The Papal command stand figures are all painted by me.

Here is a screenshot of the Ebay listing for the priest.  They have a full range for El Cid but I thought this would work for Italy too.

Reinforcements June 2025

Might be the only ones I get painted this month but reinforcements that can be used for both my Normans in Nunnery and The Red Boots of Byzantium campaigns (although they could also work as Byzantines for the A War Like No Other crusades campaign too) are now on the blog:  two battle groups of 8 stands of Byzantine Spearmen that can work for late Nikephorian and Komnenan Byzantines plus one battle group of 8 stands of Byzantine Archers that will also fit the same era.

All figures are Old Glory 15s.

The front battle group of spear (blue and yellow shields) were all painted by yours truly.

The second battle group of spearmen are mostly off EBay with 8 more that I had to add to finish out the bunch.

The archers are from the same seller off EBay as the middle spearmen.  I also added 8 of these to compete the set.  I plan on using these archers and the 2nd group of spearmen as two battle groups of mixed Nikephorian foot.

I have a battle group of western spearmen and one of western archers from the same time period as these that I plan to add at some point (hopefully by the end of the summer).  A battle group of Lombard/Communal Italian lancers plus a command stand or two may also join the blog.
