The year is 1055 AD. The rising power of the Norman adventurers has caught the attention of everyone from the halls of the Imperial residence in Augsburg to the shores of Ifriqiya to the Golden Throne of Constantinople. War in the boot of the Italian peninsula is coming ... hard. Can the Pope steel himself and force the Normans to pay homage and doe his bidding? Will the Muslim's of Sicily gather their power and make holy war on the Infidels to their north? Or the Normans take the final step in dominating the heel of Italy and the lands around?
